Optical Journeys

The Oxford English Dictionary defines "optical" as relating to or using sight, or the relationship between light and sight. Light allows us to perceive colours, shapes and the environment and the processing of that visual information happens extraordinarily quickly. However, what we discern in an image, how we identify with it and how we feel about it are more individual experiences that allow the practice of photography to have the opportunity to stir a variety of emotions. Here is a collection of images taken on various travels; some simply record events, others are an attempt to illustrate small parts of the world we live in.

Have a look... If you have time, view the pictures in "slideshow" mode. They look better. If you like any of the photos, even vaguely, please vote and/or leave a comment.
